Wrapping up a remarkable indoor season, Atlanta Track Club Elite athletes Luke Houser and Rob Heppenstall will soon represent their countries on the world stage at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China this weekend.
Houser will compete in the men's 1500 meters, while Heppenstall will race in the men's 800 meters, with events beginning Friday, March 21.
Both runners earned their spots following exceptional seasons. Houser, competing for Team USA in his first year with Atlanta Track Club Elite, broke the club record in the mile twice, placed third in the indoor 1500 meters at the USATF Indoor Championships and set multiple personal bests across various distances. Heppenstall, representing Team Canada, also recorded multiple personal bests and looks to build on this success while representing both his home country and the Club.
If they qualify after the first heat, Heppenstall will race in the 800 meters semifinals on Saturday, March 22 with the finals on Sunday, March 23. If he advances, Houser will compete in the 1500 meters final on Sunday, March 23.
All events will be streamed live on Peacock starting March 20. For more updates and results, follow Atlanta Track Club Elite on Instagram here.
